A comprehensive full-stack economic development platform that maps and connects Wyoming's business ecosystem. This interactive dashboard combines geographical mapping, artificial intelligence, and real-time data aggregation to create a centralized hub for business resources, manufacturing capabilities, and supply chain optimization across Wyoming.
The Challenge
Wyoming businesses and entrepreneurs struggled with three critical challenges in the state's developing economy. First, there was no centralized way to discover local resources, suppliers, and business services. Second, economic development services were fragmented across multiple organizations and websites, making it difficult for new businesses to access support. Third, the state's manufacturing and production capabilities remained largely invisible to potential clients and partners, limiting growth opportunities.
The Solution
Developed an enterprise-grade web platform using Django and React that revolutionizes how Wyoming businesses connect and grow. The system features a mapping interface built with Mapbox-GL and Leaflet, displaying both public resources (government organizations, chambers of commerce) and private entities (manufacturers, fabricators, suppliers). Implemented a sophisticated data validation system using locally-hosted Mistral 7B LLM and Scrapy web scrapers to maintain accurate, up-to-date business information. Created an innovative supply chain optimization tool that helps entrepreneurs identify and connect with Wyoming-based manufacturers and suppliers.
